This is a summary to get the story going. A complete and much more length history of Avatrai, can be found here. Reading the full history isn't a requirement, but it's there for those interested.

Long has it been since the balance in Avatrai was overthrown. With the disappearance of Jaimas, Lord of the Lights, the lights were left without a leader and everything began to crumble. The darks, led by Dark Lord Jadero, moved into the Wandering Realm, aided by their allies, the Undead of Avatrai. After the Wandering Realm fell, the last to go was the Realm of the Lights, and so Avatrai fell into complete darkness. But the deceiver was about the be deceived. For unbeknownst to Lord Jadero, a stirring within the Undead grew. Slowly, lower ranking darks were vanishing, attacked by the very creatures who had acted as allies to them. By the time Jadero realized the deception, it was too late and he was outnumbered. Avatrai only grew darker then as the Undead, now unchallenged and unchecked boldly roamed Avatrai wherever they pleased. In hordes they either forced the living to abandon their homes for safer lands or become victims, hunted by the Undead for sport. In their destruction, the lands of Avatrai were decimated, abandoned by the living and left as a whisper of the former glory that it once held.

But there was hope yet.

One day, a young stag, golden as the rising sun, washed ashore the White Beach. Born on a distant isle and driven by a call to find his true self, he left his homeland in search of his father and the fabled lands of his ancestors. But his arrival in Avatrai, would not go unnoticed, for there was more to this newcomer than meets the eye. Before all else, balance must be restored upon the lands and to do this, the Undead must be subdued and returned to their world beneath the ground. In order for this to happen, the living of Avatrai will have to set aside their differences and ban together if they plan on coming out victorious. The time has come to make a stand. The time has come for the realms to unite. The time is now...

V4. Into Darkness

Questions:

Where are the other Kings/Queens? Can my character be one?
Right now we are still figuring out this new Avatrai since our relaunch. Previously, we had canons and lots of them. In this new version, we are looking to delete some of the canons to open places up for others to step in with their own original characters. We'll keep you posted on further developments. The best I can say now is that if you are interested, stick around and make a name for yourself and the job may be yours.

So there's undead everywhere?
Basically yes, the lands are all unsafe with the potential of an undead to appear, though the undead still heavily prefer the darker, creepier places of Avatrai. The only place they will not tread is the Silent Lay as it is hallowed ground. They can tread into the Light lands, but don't typically like too because of the natural aura of those lands. But they will if they believe there are living that can be taken down in there.

Can I use an undead in my thread?
If you need an undead or want to throw one into a thread for interaction reasons (fight, etc), that's fine by me. At some point, I may open up the undead character creation again, but for now, I'm leaving the undead as just an open common foe for everyone.
